Our place > Food @ Swell

Our breakfasts...

are now pretty famous with our clients.
We know that when you get back from a few hours of surfing you are very hungry. So we give you a wide choice of things to eat for breakfast: The Swell kitchen is open so you can watch your food being made. Breakfast is included in all the packages.

The omeletes cooked by Anna and Lourdes™
are the favorite for most clients, filled with healthy locally produced ingredients (they are not really Trademarked, but maybe we should think about it)

Pancakes/ crepes
Nice and thin and very very tasty. Put some banana's on top or treat yourself with some chocolate syrup.

Cereal with yogurt
Personally not my thing but others love it.

orangeFreshly squeezed Orange juice
Equally popular as the Omelete's, however you'll have to squeeze it yourself, which probably makes it taste even better

Fruit bowl
Ah fresh fruit, nice and healthy, seems to taste better here than anywhere else, probably because it's all locally organically grown.

Coffee
Lots of clients say that our coffee is better than Starbuck's, maybe it's true, maybe they are just stroking our ego's, but what we do know is that it tastes good and it's grown & roasted in the Dominican Republic.

Tea
Clare the owner is english, so the tea is good.

Besides all the above there's nice fresh bread too. Banana's are also available for free all day as a healthy snack and so is drinking water by the way, so you don't have lug around those heavy water bottles or pay over the odds to rehydrate.

The Swell dinners

food4 times each week we cook dinner for our clients (and it's already included in your surf packages)

These are very tasty dinners, all enjoyed around the huge table that is in the heart of the camp. Some of the meals that are on the rotating menu are:

The traditional Dominican meal: by far the favorite of the majority our guests. Our Dominican ladies prepare rice, herbs, yuka, platano's and very yummy chicken. You can't say that you have been to the DR without having tried this delicious meal.

Lasagne: tasty and plentiful.

Chicken peanut pasta; we 'borrowed' the recipe from a good friend of ours (thanks Skip) and our clients and we love it.

Chicken Cordon Bleu: Served with lots of green stuff on the side, garlic bread and sauted potatoes and it tastes very good.

Spaghetti Bolognaise: Always good to get the energy levels up after an active day.

Mediteranean meal: Falafel, meat balls, hummous and other exotic things, healthy and varied.

These are just a few sample meals that appear on the menu, sometimes we throw a BBQ or serve whatever is most fresh.

How about vegetarian and vegan food?
It's hard for us to cook things for everyone individually, send us an email to see what your options are.

What about the other nights when you don't serve food?
There's a restaurant next door, a good Mexican across the road, or fancy some Sushi? Just 3 minutes walk away. Cabarete's main beach has too many to list and it's a short walk away. Ask us for recommendations - we take no commissions for sending you out to our favorite food places.

Self-serve bar
We have fridge stocked with beers, soft drinks and wine so you can take a drink and mark it on your bar-tab. We keep our drinks prices pegged low for good value.
